Rules And Regulations :

Guidelines :

• The participant must be over 16 years of age.
• The participant must be a citizen of India, residing in India.
• The sketch should depict the theme which is “Make Your Superhero Spoof”
• Only one entry is allowed per participant.
• Captions, Dialogues can be affixed along with / on the sketch.
• The sketch must be original.
• Adult content of any kind will not be entertained and would lead to direct disqualification.

• The ‘Comedy Element” will be taken into consideration.

Rules and Regulations :

Guidelines

• The participant must be over 16 years of age.
•  The participant must be a citizen of India, residing in India.
•  The photograph should depict the theme which is “Food & Lifestyle – A Photographer’s Perspective”.
• Two entries are allowed per photographer.
• A suitable ‘CAPTION‘ must be affixed along with the photograph and is a must.
• The photograph must be original and watermark is allowed on the photograph.
• Participants may submit colour and / or black and white photographs taken up to five years before the start of the competition (February 12th 2013)
• The photograph  must be of the highest resolution possible.
• It can be in the Landscape / Portrait mode.
• Photographs that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization i.e, removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, colour and contrast etc will be DISQUALIFIED.
• Adult content of any kind will not be entertained and would lead to direct disqualification.
• No HDR photography images will be allowed.

Judging Parameters

• Images will be adjudged on originality, concept, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit.
• ‘Likes’ for the photograph uploaded on the ‘Phoenix ’13’  Facebook Page will carry 30%  weightage. It can be shared on the participant’s wall/ timeline but the ‘likes’ should be for the photograph and not for the link that is shared.
• The rest 70% would be judged on creativity and other technical aspects.
• Photographs bearing Top 3 ‘Likes’ will directly make it to the Art Gallery and will finally be judged by the Judging Committee from March 5, 2013.
• In case of any issues the Judge’s decision is final.

Showcasing & Awards                                           

Photographs will be shortlisted after March 2, 2013 and will be showcased from March 5, 2013 to the judging committee in the Art Gallery of SKIT.

The number of likes will be counted on March 5, 2013. So keep sharing till the end.

Photographers of the selected photos will be invited to the campus of SKIT. Accommodation for outsiders will be provided by SKIT. Cash prizes, along with certificates will be awarded for overall excellence.

Battle Of Bands

Battle Of The Bands by Phoenix – 13 :

Rules and Regulations.

REGISTRATION:
All bands wishing to register for the “Battle of the Bands”  must read and accept the following rules and regulations before completing the registration form.

Bands must provide Band Profiles with their Entry Form which has to be mailed to phoenix.skit@gmail.com 
The shortlisted bands for this event will be requested to pay us  Rs 1000/ band as registration fee along with the following details.

If won earlier, Attach the details with proof.

Also attach files/pictures of  the band which might boost your chances of getting shortlisted.

For Online Registration:
The Band / Group Profile should clearly mention the event, band members Name, College ID, Instrument, atleast two contact no and Mail ids .
All bands must perform in ANY INDIAN LANGUAGE.
All bands have to send Band Profile + demo (preferably Own Compositions)
These demos can be in form of uploaded tracks on sites like Reverbnation, My band etc or a youtube link. You can also send them as an attachment to phoenix.skit@gmail.com
A play time of 15+5 minutes only will be provided.
Only basic drum kit and sound systems will be provided. Rest all instruments are to be brought by the band themselves.
No Minus one track allowed.
GENERAL RULES:
Participants must be 30 and under.
On the day of the performance, band members must be dressed in clothing free from obscenities, drugs, alcohol, sex or any other subject matter not suitable for a family audience.
The entire performance must be violence‐free. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted.
All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likenesses used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without any compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
Band members are responsible for the security of their equipment. Sri Krishna Institute Of Technology, or any party acting on their behalf, will not be held responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen equipment.
Breakage, mishandling or any screw-up with the instruments/provided equipments by the band members will be penalised. 
Anything illegal will lead to direct disqualification, breaking the rules and regulations will also lead to the same.
EQUIPMENT AND ON-STAGE RULES:
We will provide you sound and lighting system, which all the bands will use. The  Core Council will provide all necessary stage crews. Pyrotechnics of any kind are not allowed.
Bands are not permitted to use pre‐recorded sound material. All bands must play live.
The total playing time for each band must not exceed 25 minutes( 20 + 05 min Soundcheck).
Any band overrunning their allotted playing time may be faded out and/or deducted points.
The playing order of the bands will be determined by a draw on the day of the concert.
Bands must arrive at least one hour before their allotted time. Any band that misses their allotted onstage time will be disqualified.
JUDGING, PRIZES & MISCELLANEOUS:
The Battle of the Bands will be judged by 2 Celebrity Judges. There will be prizes given out the night of the Battle of the Bands for 1st prize Rs 20,000, 2nd prize Rs 5000 / A song recording deal. 

The Event “Battle Of Bands” by Phoenix Fest will be on March 9 2013,  10:30 A.M onwards on our Main Stage. Reporting Time 09:30 A.M

Technical

QUIZ:
Team: 2 Members.

Prelims: Written Round at the venue.

Finals: Only shortlisted teams will be eligible for the Finale Round.

CIRCUIT DESIGNING: 
Team:3 Members

Prelim question will be given 36 hrs prior the event. Participants will be supplied with electronics related circuits which needs to be solved with the electronic circuit elements supplied to them. The circuits will be based on Logic design, analog electronic circuits and linear integrated circuits.

2 rounds.

C PROGRAMMING: 
Team: 2 Members.

Program to be coded will be given on the spot by the Judges.Judges decision is final. *Duration may vary, will be notified to the participants 24 hrs prior.

Duration: 30 mins*.

BOB THE BUILDER 

Team: 2 Members.

Team of two will have to make a model from the given materials by using a lathe machine. The most creative idea will win the competition.

Duration : 2 hrs

PAPER PRESENTATION:
Team: 2 Members 

Any popular scientific or technical topic irrespective of the branch can be chosen.
Time limit: Last 2 mins will be Questions Round. Multimedia Based presentation is allowed – Only IEEE format papers are allowed. There will be no commitment to provide additional facilities or equipment on the part of the organizers. Candidates must furnish them on their own.

Duration,: 8+2 min

DEBATE (ENGLISH):

Individual Event.
Participants can speak ‘for’ or ‘against’ the topic. Medium of expression will be English ONLY.Paper reading isn’t allowed. Topic for the competition will be announced 24 hrs prior to the start of the program. (For topic : Contact us or Keep yourselves updated on our facebook page) 

DEBATE (KANNADA):

Individual Event.
Participants can speak ‘for’ or ‘against’ the topic. Medium of expression will be Kannada ONLY.Paper reading isn’t allowed. Topic for the competition will be announced 24 hrs prior to the start of the program. (For topic : Contact us or Keep yourselves updated on our facebook page) 

PRODUCT LAUNCH: 
Individual Event.

A product will be given.Product given has to be marketed, the most creative one will win.

CLASSICAL VOCAL ( SOLO)
Item can be Hindustani/Carnatic/Bhagvadgeetha, Film Songs are not allowed.
Only 2 accompanists allowed.

SOLO VOCAL (FILMY)
Participants must bring their own instruments Only one accompanist allowed. Karaoke Is allowed (Karaoke will be discarded if vocals heard on it).Duration: 4+2

GROUP SINGING (INDIAN) 
Team : 4+2 (including accompanists)

Song should be either in Kannada or Hindi Evaluation is based on singing only. One Instrumental compulsory.

ANTAKSHARI(HINDI & KANNADA)

Prelims: Written Quiz: Music/Movie related questions for respective languages.

Finals: Shortlisted teams will be qualified for the Final Round.

Rules and Regulations:
All participating bands/groups must be college members (with valid id cards). Band/Group members from different colleges can form a band.
The band members must be 3-8 in number including accompanists and band should stick to their allotted slot timings. NO CHANGE OF SLOT SHALL BE ENTERTAINED.

Teams have to make a new product name, punch line and advertise the product/brand. Participants cannot copy existing advertisements. Having technology background will be an add-on for the participants. Participants must bring their own props for advertising. Different forms of expression like a short skit, jingles, slogans, banners or any other innovative form can be incorporated (care should be taken that they are not offensive or vulgar) .
Judges decision shall be treated as final and binding on all. 

Duration: 10 + 5min.

DUMB CHARADE, MOVIE SPOOF,PERSONALITY, TREASURE HUNT:

Mock Rock:

The “Funny” quotient will be the main criteria.

Face Painting

Description:
The event is a fun way to show your artistic skills in new age face art. There will be two members per team; one member paints his/her partner’s face with harmless poster colors based on the theme given to the teams on the spot.
All materials (paints and brushes) should be brought by the participants. The best and the most creative face painter wins.

Collage

Description:
Participants will have to make a collage using only craft materials like, ribbons, strings, paper etc.
No burning of paper allowed for collage.
